Georgia (X tons) was the main destination for inactive yeast exports from Bulgaria, accounting for a 36% share of total exports. Imports into Bulgaria
Inactive yeast imports into Bulgaria expanded notably to X tons in 2021, surging by 6.6% compared with 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports posted a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 99% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, inactive yeast imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 80% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

The Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of inactive yeast imports to Bulgaria, together accounting for 58% of total imports.
