Romania (X tons) was the main destination for paper label exports from Bulgaria, with a 31% share of total exports. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 34%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of paper label to Bulgaria, with a 33% share of total imports. Turkey (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.

Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 21% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
