Poland (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Romania (X tons) were the main destinations of mandarin and clementine exports from Bulgaria, together comprising 71% of total exports. The Czech Republic, Belarus, Germany, Slovakia and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +80.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for mandarin and clementine exported from Bulgaria were Poland ($X), Hungary ($X) and Romania ($X), with a combined 74% share of total exports. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Bulgaria
In 2022, approx. X tons of tangerines, mandarins, clementines, satsumas were imported into Bulgaria; which is down by -15.8% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
In value terms, mandarin and clementine imports dropped markedly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then fell sharply in the following year.

Greece (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of mandarin and clementine imports to Bulgaria, together comprising 96% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Turkey (with a CAGR of +32.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest mandarin and clementine suppliers to Bulgaria were Turkey ($X), Greece ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 95% share of total imports.
