In value terms, oat exports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed moderate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 498% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Greece (X tons) was the main destination for oat exports from Bulgaria, with a approx. 99% share of total exports.

In value terms, oat imports fell dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 670%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then declined sharply in the following year.

Austria (X tons), Ukraine (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main suppliers of oat imports to Bulgaria, together comprising 83% of total imports.
