Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Turkey (X tons) was the main destination for printing components exports from Bulgaria, with a 87% share of total exports. Moreover, printing components exports to Turkey exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Iran (X tons), tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Greece (X kg), with a 0.2% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Turkey amounted to +24.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Iran (+120.4% per year) and Greece (-5.3% per year).
In value terms, Iran ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for printing components exports from Bulgaria, comprising 54% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a 21% share of total exports. It was followed by Armenia, with a 1.2% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iran (+24.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Bulgaria
In 2022, imports of printing components into Bulgaria declined rapidly to X tons, reducing by -24.3% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -27.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 33%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, printing components imports contracted remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 40%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then fell rapidly in the following year.

Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of printing components imports to Bulgaria, together comprising 76% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (with a CAGR of +121.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest printing components suppliers to Bulgaria were Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), Turkey ($X) and Germany ($X), together comprising 50% of total imports.
