Imports into Bulgaria
In 2021, sorbitol imports into Bulgaria reached X tons, rising by 7.2% against the previous year. In general, imports continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 112% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, sorbitol imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 66%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

France (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of sorbitol imports to Bulgaria, together accounting for 91% of total imports. The Czech Republic, South Korea and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7.3%.
