From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Greece amounted to +52.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+99.4% per year) and Romania (+41.5% per year).

The average frozen sweet corn export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -20.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 127% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Greece ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, purchases abroad of frozen sweet corn was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 46%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, frozen sweet corn imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 46%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Moldova (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of frozen sweet corn imports to Bulgaria, with a combined 83% share of total imports. Serbia, Germany, Greece and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of +56.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Moldova ($X), Hungary ($X) and Poland ($X) appeared to be the largest frozen sweet corn suppliers to Bulgaria, together comprising 76% of total imports. Germany, Serbia, Belgium and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.
