Germany (X tons) was the main destination for net fabric exports from Bulgaria, accounting for a 64% share of total exports. Moreover, net fabric exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Greece (X tons), threefold. Moldova (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany stood at +95.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Greece (+35.9% per year) and Moldova (0.0% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for net fabric exported from Bulgaria were France ($X), Greece ($X) and Moldova ($X), together comprising 87% of total exports. Germany, Italy, Turkey and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 12%.
Among the main countries of destination, Germany, with a CAGR of +147.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average net fabric export price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 7.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 153%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+261.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of tulles and other net fabrics decreased by -58.1% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 100%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, net fabric imports reduced rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 58%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Turkey (X tons) constituted the largest net fabric supplier to Bulgaria, accounting for a 77% share of total imports. Moreover, net fabric imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Greece (X tons), more than tenfold. Italy (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Turkey stood at -4.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Greece (-10.9% per year) and Italy (+7.6% per year).
