Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, sweetened condensed and evaporated milk exports rose sharply to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, faced a precipitous slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 1,542%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Chad (X kg) was the main destination for sweetened condensed and evaporated milk exports from Cameroon, accounting for a 83% share of total exports. Moreover, sweetened condensed and evaporated milk exports to Chad exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Central African Republic (X kg), fivefold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Chad amounted to -20.9%.
In value terms, Chad ($X) remains the key foreign market for condensed or evaporated milk (sweetened) exports from Cameroon, comprising 98% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Central African Republic ($X), with a 1.9% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Chad stood at -23.5%.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average export price for condensed or evaporated milk (sweetened) amounted to $X per ton, growing by 2.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average export price increased by 58%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chad ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Central African Republic amounted to $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chad (-3.3%).

Imports into Cameroon
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of condensed or evaporated milk (sweetened), when their volume decreased by -17.8% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports recorded a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 55% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sweetened condensed and evaporated milk imports contracted notably to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 71% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Malaysia (X tons) constituted the largest sweetened condensed and evaporated milk supplier to Cameroon, accounting for a 74% share of total imports. Moreover, sweetened condensed and evaporated milk imports from Malaysia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Belgium (X tons), with a 4.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Malaysia stood at +24.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (-1.8% per year) and Belgium (+14.6% per year).
In value terms, Malaysia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of condensed or evaporated milk (sweetened) to Cameroon, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($X), with a 25% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Malaysia totaled +25.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (-0.5% per year) and the Netherlands (-18.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average import price for condensed or evaporated milk (sweetened) stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -3.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 24% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Togo ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+11.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
