The UK (X tons) was the main destination for fruit and berry exports from Cameroon, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, fruit and berry exports to the UK exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, France (X tons), twofold. Spain (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to the UK amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (X% per year) and Spain (X% per year).
In value terms, the UK ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for fruits and berries exports from Cameroon, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with an X% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with an X% share.

Imports into Cameroon
In 2022, purchases abroad of fruits and berries decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, fruit and berry imports contracted to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, South Africa (X tons) constituted the largest fruit and berry supplier to Cameroon, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, fruit and berry imports from South Africa exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Nigeria (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Morocco (X tons), with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from South Africa stood at X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Nigeria (X% per year) and Morocco (X% per year).
