Exports from Cameroon
Mango and mangosteen exports from Cameroon declined notably to X tons in 2022, shrinking by -16.4% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 510%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, mango and mangosteen exports declined notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 648% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Switzerland (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main destinations of mango and mangosteen exports from Cameroon, with a combined 28% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +31.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Switzerland ($X) remains the key foreign market for mangoes, mangosteens and guavas exports from Cameroon, comprising 22% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Austria ($X), with a 7.8% share of total exports. It was followed by Spain, with a 4.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Switzerland totaled +1.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Austria (+11.7% per year) and Spain (+32.6% per year).

In 2022, the average mango and mangosteen export price amounted to $X per ton, approximately mirroring the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, mango and mangosteen export price decreased by -16.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Gabon ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Cameroon
In 2022, imports of mangoes, mangosteens and guavas into Cameroon skyrocketed to X kg, with an increase of 30% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 428% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, mango and mangosteen imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 643%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Brazil (X kg) constituted the largest mango and mangosteen supplier to Cameroon, with a 82% share of total imports. Moreover, mango and mangosteen imports from Brazil exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X kg), fourfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Brazil was relatively modest.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constituted the largest supplier of mangoes, mangosteens and guavas to Cameroon, comprising 79% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with a 21% share of total imports.

Import Prices by Country
The average mango and mangosteen import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -9.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a tangible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 121% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while the price for Brazil stood at $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+15.3%).
