As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, raspberry and blackberry imports rose sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 223%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Belgium (X kg) was the main supplier of raspberry and blackberry to Cameroon, with a 91% share of total imports. Moreover, raspberry and blackberry imports from Belgium exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X kg), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Serbia (X kg), with a 3.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Belgium amounted to +17.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (-27.0% per year) and Serbia (-15.7% per year).

In value terms, Belgium ($X) constituted the largest supplier of raspberries and blackberries to Cameroon, comprising 70% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Serbia ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Spain, with a 4.3% share.

In 2022, the average raspberry and blackberry import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 3.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 62% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Serbia ($X per ton), while the price for Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
