Canada (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of register book exports from Cameroon, with a combined 79% share of total exports.

In general, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 377%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, register book imports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 368%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest register book supplier to Cameroon, with a 90% share of total imports. Moreover, register book imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), more than tenfold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +30.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+56.4% per year) and Belgium (+60.3% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of registers, account books, order books and receipt books to Cameroon, comprising 87% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with a 2.2% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to +29.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+58.3% per year) and Belgium (+28.9% per year).

As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
