The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 837% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

France (X units), the UK (X units) and Canada (X units) were the main destinations of telephone exports from Cameroon, together accounting for 64% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Canada (with a CAGR of +37.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the UK ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for telephones and videophones exports from Cameroon, comprising 43% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 21% share of total exports. It was followed by Canada, with a 10% share.

Overall, imports continue to indicate slight growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 140% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 210% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of telephone to Cameroon, with a 48% share of total imports. Moreover, telephone imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hong Kong SAR (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Netherlands (X units), with a 7.1% share.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 109% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
