The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 653%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, vegetable product exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports posted a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 382% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The United States (X tons), Canada (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of vegetable product exports from Cameroon, with a combined 43% share of total exports. Belgium, France, Ukraine and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Ukraine (with a CAGR of +150.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for vegetable product exported from Cameroon were the United States ($X), Germany ($X) and Ukraine ($X), with a combined 47% share of total exports.
Ukraine, with a CAGR of +197.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average vegetable product export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, jumping by 57% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a perceptible decline. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+18.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Vegetable Product Imports
Imports into Cameroon
In 2022, supplies from abroad of vegetable products decreased by -22.7% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after three years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 955%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, vegetable product imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 966%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
France (X kg), Belgium (X kg) and Turkey (X kg) were the main suppliers of vegetable product imports to Cameroon, together comprising 71% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +208.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, France ($X), Belgium ($X) and Turkey ($X) constituted the largest vegetable product suppliers to Cameroon, together accounting for 69% of total imports.
Turkey, with a CAGR of +107.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
