Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Chad (X cubic meters) was the main destination for wood chips and particles exports from Cameroon, with a 42% share of total exports. It was followed by China (X cubic meters), with a 0.7% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Chad was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (0.0% per year) and Ireland (-79.6% per year).
In value terms, Chad ($X) remains the key foreign market for wood chips and particles exports from Cameroon, comprising 20% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 0.2% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Chad was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (0.0% per year) and Ireland (-83.9% per year).

Imports into Cameroon
In 2022, approx. X cubic meters of wood chips and particles were imported into Cameroon; shrinking by -24.8% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 164% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X cubic meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
