The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 44%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

The United States (X tons) was the main destination for other cereals exports from Canada, with a 74% share of total exports. Moreover, other cereals exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Philippines (X tons), with a 3.3% share.

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for other cereals exports from Canada, comprising 83% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with an 8.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a 1.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States stood at +7.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (+19.7% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (-1.6% per year).

The average other cereals export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 17% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +9.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Imports into Canada
In 2021, approx. X tons of other cerealses were imported into Canada; with a decrease of -5.4% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 625%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, other cereals imports fell rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, posted a slight increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 79% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Peru (X tons), Bolivia (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of other cereals imports to Canada, with a combined 83% share of total imports. These countries were followed by South Africa, Ecuador and India, which together accounted for a further 13%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by South Africa (with a CAGR of +86.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Bolivia ($X), Peru ($X) and the United States ($X) appeared to be the largest other cereals suppliers to Canada, together accounting for 86% of total imports. Ecuador, South Africa and India lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 9%.
Among the main suppliers, Ecuador, with a CAGR of +43.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average other cereals import price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -18.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average import price increased by 338%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Bolivia ($X per ton), while the price for South Africa ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
