Imports into Canada
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys, when their volume increased by 31% to X tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2014; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
In value terms, ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
