The United States (X tons), Italy (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main destinations of recovered fibre pulp exports from Canada, with a combined 80% share of total exports. South Korea, the UK, Germany, Guatemala and Brazil lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 18%.

Imports into Canada
In 2022, imports of recovered fibre pulp into Canada soared to X tons, picking up by 75% against 2021. Overall, imports recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 255% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, recovered fibre pulp imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports posted resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 283%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
