Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, stranded wire imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
China (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the main suppliers of stranded wire imports to Canada, together comprising 83% of total imports. These countries were followed by Thailand, Portugal, Romania and South Korea, which together accounted for a further 9.7%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Romania (with a CAGR of +296.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
