Grand Piano Market Size in Central Asia

In 2021, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in the Central Asian grand piano market, when its value increased by 106% to $X. In 2021, overseas purchases of acoustic grand pianos were finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 115% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, grand piano imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Kazakhstan (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons) were the largest importers of acoustic grand pianos in Central Asia, together generating 76% of total imports. Uzbekistan (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, distantly followed by Mongolia (X tons). All these countries together took near 23% share of total imports.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Mongolia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+5.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
