The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, albumins and albuminates imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Kazakhstan was the main importer of albumins, albuminates and other derivatives (excluding egg albumin) in Central Asia, with the volume of imports amounting to X tons, which was near 66% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), constituting a 30% share of total imports. Mongolia (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.

Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +12.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 32% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a modest expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the import price increased by 64%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Mongolia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
