In value terms, alcohols exports soared to $X in 2020. In general, exports, however, posted a temperate expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan dominates alcohols exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2020. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons), making up an X% share of total exports. Mongolia (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives exports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007 to 2020. Mongolia (-X%) and Uzbekistan (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2007 to 2020, the share of Kazakhstan increased by +X% percentage points, while Uzbekistan (-X p.p.) saw their share reduced. Kazakhstan represented the main importer of alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives in Central Asia, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was approx.
