Uzbekistan represented the largest exporter of anti-freezing preparations and prepared de-icing fluids in Central Asia, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was near 78% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kazakhstan (X tons), mixing up a 21% share of total exports.

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 140% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a moderate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 25% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +11.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Turkmenistan (-3.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kyrgyzstan (+7.2 p.p.), Uzbekistan (+6.2 p.p.) and Mongolia (+4.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -3.5% and -14.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported anti-freezing preparations and prepared de-icing fluids in Central Asia, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mongolia ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 12% share.

In Kazakhstan, anti-freezing preparations imports shrank by an average annual rate of -3.6% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mongolia (+4.3% per year) and Uzbekistan (+38.4% per year).
