In 2022, Kyrgyzstan (X tons) represented the major exporter of articles of asbestos-cement, cellulose fiber-cement or the like, achieving 63% of total exports. Kazakhstan (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 37% share of total exports.

The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan prevails in imports structure, recording X tons, which was near 82% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), comprising an 8.2% share of total imports. Mongolia (X tons), Tajikistan (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to articles of fiber cement imports into Kazakhstan stood at -2.1%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+31.6%) and Kyrgyzstan (+17.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +31.6% from 2012-2022.
