In 2022, Kazakhstan (X units) was the major exporter of baby carriages, achieving 69% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X units) and Tajikistan (X units), together constituting a 30% share of total exports.

Exports from Kazakhstan increased at an average annual rate of +59.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+895.0%) and Tajikistan (+70.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +895.0% from 2012-2022. While the share of Uzbekistan (+25 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Kazakhstan (-26.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Tajikistan ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 100% of total exports.

Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +516.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, which is down by -77.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 116% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2021, and then shrank notably in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tajikistan (+1.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 118%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, baby carriage imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports enjoyed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 68% against the previous year. Imports by Country

Kazakhstan represented the main importing country with an import of about X units, which recorded 63% of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Uzbekistan (X units). All these countries together held near 30% share of total imports. Tajikistan (X units) held a minor share of total imports.

Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of baby carriages. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+49.1%) and Tajikistan (+15.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +49.1% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kyrgyzstan (-4.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+12 p.p.) and Tajikistan (+3.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan saw its share reduced by -2.8% and -11.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +53.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 23% against the previous year. Import price indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, baby carriage import price increased by +143.5% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 46% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
