In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together comprising 99% of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +32.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 52% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a pronounced decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 102% against the previous year. In 2021, approx. X tons of base metal closures, stoppers, caps and lids were imported in Central Asia; falling by -13.1% compared with 2020. Overall, imports, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 85%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2020, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, base metal closure imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +116.5% against 2016 indices. In value terms, the largest base metal closure importing markets in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Turkmenistan ($X), with a combined 89% share of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +23.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
