In 2022, exports of beauty, make-up and skin care preparations in Central Asia surged to X tons, picking up by 98% against the year before. In general, exports posted prominent growth. From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to beauty, make-up and skin care preparations imports into Kazakhstan stood at +5.2%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+22.8%), Kyrgyzstan (+20.0%), Mongolia (+3.2%) and Tajikistan (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +22.8% from 2012-2022. Turkmenistan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported beauty, make-up and skin care preparations in Central Asia, comprising 63% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Mongolia, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan stood at +3.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kyrgyzstan (+12.2% per year) and Mongolia (+5.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 3.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a pronounced descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the import price increased by 19% against the previous year.
