In 2022, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -18.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a buoyant increase. Imports in Central Asia
In 2022, approx. X units of blankets and travelling rugs of synthetic fibres were imported in Central Asia; waning by -31.3% compared with 2021. Kazakhstan was the largest importing country with an import of about X units, which amounted to 80% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X units), mixing up an 11% share of total imports. Turkmenistan (X units), Mongolia (X units), Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Tajikistan (X units) took a minor share of total imports.
Imports into Kazakhstan increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+42.5%) and Mongolia (+3.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +42.5% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Turkmenistan (-4.7%), Kyrgyzstan (-10.0%) and Tajikistan (-12.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+11 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (+2.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan saw its share reduced by -2.5%, -5.2% and -5.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported blankets and travelling rugs of synthetic fibres in Central Asia, comprising 82% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkmenistan, with a 2.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Kazakhstan stood at +7.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+47.8% per year) and Turkmenistan (-4.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -3.1% against the previous year. Import price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, travelling rugs of synthetic fibre import price increased by +21.2% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 25%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit, and then fell slightly in the following year.
