The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 141%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 92% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, bromides, iodides and oxids thereof imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 417% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Turkmenistan prevails in imports structure, amounting to X tons, which was near 97% of total imports in 2021. Uzbekistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
