From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, wood chips and particles exports plummeted to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 221%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Kazakhstan (X cubic meters) represented roughly 100% of total exports in 2022.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the wood chips and particles exports, with a CAGR of +8.8% from 2012 to 2022. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) also remains the largest wood chips and particles supplier in Central Asia.

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per cubic meter in 2022, dropping by -7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 66%. The level of export peaked at $X per cubic meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Kazakhstan.

Imports in Central Asia
In 2022, the amount of wood chips and particles imported in Central Asia soared to X cubic meters, picking up by 67% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 205%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X cubic meters. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, wood chips and particles imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports enjoyed prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 87%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Kazakhstan (X cubic meters) was the largest importer of wood chips and particles, committing 65% of total imports. Uzbekistan (X cubic meters) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X cubic meters). All these countries together held near 28% share of total imports. Tajikistan (X cubic meters) and Turkmenistan (X cubic meters) took a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to wood chips and particles imports into Kazakhstan stood at -3.3%. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+58.9%), Tajikistan (+16.7%), Uzbekistan (+10.8%) and Turkmenistan (+6.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +58.9% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan increased by +15, +13 and +2.9 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest wood chips and particles importing markets in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X), together comprising 91% of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, Kyrgyzstan, with a CAGR of +52.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per cubic meter in 2022, falling by -8.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 112%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per cubic meter, and then reduced in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per cubic meter), while Kazakhstan ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+6.3%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
