In value terms, the largest chocolate bar with filling supplying countries in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X), Kyrgyzstan ($X) and Uzbekistan ($X), with a combined 100% share of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +48.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 17% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 117%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+21.7%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Central Asia
Chocolate bar with filling imports skyrocketed to X tons in 2021, rising by 24% against 2020 figures. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, chocolate bar with filling imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan represented the major importing country with an import of about X tons, which amounted to 51% of total imports. Uzbekistan (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), Mongolia (X tons), Turkmenistan (X tons) and Tajikistan (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 49% share of total imports.
Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of chocolate bars with fillings. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+14.1%), Turkmenistan (+4.2%) and Mongolia (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +14.1% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Kyrgyzstan (-4.3%) and Tajikistan (-5.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan increased by +16 and +1.8 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 79% share of total imports.
Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +29.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a mild setback. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Turkmenistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+13.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
