In 2021, supplies from abroad of concrete or mortar mixers increased by 84% to X units, rising for the fourth year in a row after three years of decline. Overall, imports posted prominent growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, concrete mixer imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports posted a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 149% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

Kazakhstan dominates imports structure, recording X units, which was near 82% of total imports in 2021. Uzbekistan (X units) took a 5.6% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Mongolia (4.7%). Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Tajikistan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to concrete mixer imports into Kazakhstan stood at +12.2%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+62.1%), Kyrgyzstan (+28.8%) and Tajikistan (+15.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +62.1% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Mongolia (-6.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, the largest concrete mixer importing markets in Central Asia were Uzbekistan ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Tajikistan ($X), with a combined 93% share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +12.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -26.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 151% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
