Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +67.6% from 2012-2022. While the share of Uzbekistan (+3.3 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (+2.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Kazakhstan (-4.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest cranks and crankshafts supplier in Central Asia, comprising 87% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 10% share of total exports.

In Kazakhstan, cranks and crankshafts exports increased at an average annual rate of +8.6% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+54.1% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+22.6% per year).

In 2022, approx. X tons of cranks and crankshafts were imported in Central Asia; increasing by 46% against 2021 figures. Overall, imports saw buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 56% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

In value terms, cranks and crankshafts imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 54%. Uzbekistan (+29 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (+2.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -25.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported cranks and crankshafts in Central Asia, comprising 61% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 30% share of total imports. It was followed by Mongolia, with a 4.8% share.

In Kazakhstan, cranks and crankshafts imports expanded at an average annual rate of +7.1% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+17.0% per year) and Mongolia (+9.7% per year).
