Uzbekistan dominates exports structure, resulting at X units, which was near 80% of total exports in 2021. Kazakhstan (X units) held a 10% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Mongolia (10%).

In 2021, the amount of crawler tractors imported in Central Asia skyrocketed to X units, surging by 125% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Mongolia (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 14% share, followed by Turkmenistan (13%) and Tajikistan (5.3%). The following importers - Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Uzbekistan (X units) - each finished at a 3.3% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to crawler tractor imports into Kazakhstan stood at +2.2%. At the same time, Tajikistan (+14.0%) and Turkmenistan (+9.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +14.0% from 2012-2021. Uzbekistan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Kyrgyzstan (-10.6%) and Mongolia (-11.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Kazakhstan (+15 p.p.), Turkmenistan (+7.8 p.p.), Tajikistan (+3.8 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Kyrgyzstan (-2.5 p.p.) and Mongolia (-26.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported crawler tractors in Central Asia, comprising 90% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mongolia ($X), with a 6.2% share of total imports. It was followed by Tajikistan, with a 2.5% share.

In Kazakhstan, crawler tractor imports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mongolia (-24.1% per year) and Tajikistan (+16.9% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, with a decrease of -22.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 73%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Uzbekistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
