In 2021, the Central Asian disperse dye market increased by 7.8% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. The total consumption indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% over the last nine-year period. In 2021, exports of disperse dyes and preparations based thereon in Central Asia dropped remarkably to X tons, which is down by -83.2% compared with 2020. In general, exports, however, showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 67,985% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then declined rapidly in the following year.

Uzbekistan dominates imports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near 79% of total imports in 2021. Turkmenistan (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 16% share of total imports. Tajikistan (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

Imports into Uzbekistan increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Tajikistan (+50.0%), Kyrgyzstan (+19.5%) and Turkmenistan (+5.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +50.0% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan increased by +79 and +2.3 percentage points, respectively.
