Imports by Country

Kazakhstan represented the main importer of drive-axles with differential and non-driving axles in Central Asia, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was near 59% of total imports in 2021. Uzbekistan (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons). All these countries together took near 38% share of total imports. Mongolia (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to driving and non-driving axle imports into Kazakhstan stood at +5.7%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+37.0%), Kyrgyzstan (+11.1%) and Mongolia (+3.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +51.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 1.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the import price increased by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
