The Central Asian egg product market stood at $X in 2021, flattening at the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then plummeted in the following year.
In value terms, egg product exports fell modestly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 431% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2020, and then contracted slightly in the following year.
Exports by Country
The shipments of the one major exporters of egg products, namely Kazakhstan, represented more than two-thirds of total export.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the egg products exports, with a CAGR of +34.3% from 2012 to 2021. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) also remains the largest egg product supplier in Central Asia.
In Kazakhstan, egg product exports increased at an average annual rate of +27.1% over the period from 2012-2021.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 24% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 46%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Kazakhstan.
From 2012 to 2021, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Kazakhstan amounted to -5.3% per year.
Egg Product Imports
Imports in Central Asia
In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of egg products, when their volume decreased by -9.8% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 105%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, egg product imports reached $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 122%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) represented roughly 80% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), comprising a 16% share of total imports. Tajikistan (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +260.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest egg product importing markets in Central Asia were Uzbekistan ($X), Kyrgyzstan ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X), together accounting for 95% of total imports.
Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +241.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, rising by 21% against the previous year. Import price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, egg product import price increased by +32.6% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the import price increased by 39%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+19.9%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
