In 2022, the amount of electrical apparatus for sound or visual signalling exported in Central Asia contracted sharply to X units, waning by -51.9% on the previous year. In general, exports, however, posted a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 1,408% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Tajikistan (X units) and Kazakhstan (X units) represented the major exporters of electrical apparatus for sound or visual signalling in Central Asia, together making up 81% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Mongolia (X units), comprising a 13% share of total exports. Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Uzbekistan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Mongolia, with a CAGR of +20.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In 2022, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, surging by 113% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 137% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit), while Tajikistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mongolia (+12.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2022, electrical signalling apparatus imports in Central Asia dropped dramatically to X units, with a decrease of -27.9% against 2021. Overall, imports recorded a pronounced slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 152% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, electrical signalling apparatus imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a pronounced descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 81%. From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to electrical signalling apparatus imports into Kazakhstan stood at -3.0%. At the same time, Tajikistan (+54.8%) and Kyrgyzstan (+21.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Tajikistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +54.8% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Mongolia (-2.4%), Uzbekistan (-6.0%) and Turkmenistan (-20.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kazakhstan (+14 p.p.), Uzbekistan (+4.6 p.p.), Kyrgyzstan (+4.1 p.p.) and Tajikistan (+3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Turkmenistan saw its share reduced by -25.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported electrical apparatus for sound or visual signalling in Central Asia, comprising 78% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 9.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkmenistan, with a 4.4% share.

In Kazakhstan, electrical signalling apparatus imports shrank by an average annual rate of -1.3% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (-1.2% per year) and Turkmenistan (-18.9% per year).
