The Central Asian machinery electrical parts market expanded to $X in 2022, rising by 1.7% against the previous year. The total consumption indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. In value terms, machinery electrical parts production rose to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. The total production indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, production decreased by -2.6% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the production volume increased by 34%. Over the period under review, production reached the peak level at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in Central Asia
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of electrical parts of machinery or apparatus, when their volume decreased by -43.1% to X tons. Overall, exports, however, recorded significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 113,350% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, machinery electrical parts exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 45,182%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Uzbekistan dominates exports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near 98% of total exports in 2022. Kazakhstan (X kg) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the electrical parts of machinery or apparatus exports, with a CAGR of +37.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+2.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. While the share of Uzbekistan (+36 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Kazakhstan (-22.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) remains the largest machinery electrical parts supplier in Central Asia, comprising 99% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 0.8% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Uzbekistan totaled +57.3%.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 104% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 719% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan totaled $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+14.7%).

Imports in Central Asia
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of electrical parts of machinery or apparatus, when their volume decreased by -42.3% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 226% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
In value terms, machinery electrical parts imports fell significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 241%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Uzbekistan (X tons) was the largest importer of electrical parts of machinery or apparatus, generating 75% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Mongolia (X tons), mixing up a 20% share of total imports. The following importers - Kazakhstan (X kg) and Turkmenistan (X kg) - together made up 4.9% of total imports.
Uzbekistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the electrical parts of machinery or apparatus imports, with a CAGR of +158.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Mongolia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Turkmenistan (-19.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+75 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Turkmenistan saw its share reduced by -2.8%, -24% and -43.6% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X), Mongolia ($X) and Turkmenistan ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 95% share of total imports.
In terms of the main importing countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +126.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 46% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 51% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkmenistan (+24.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
