As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Kazakhstan (X units), distantly followed by Mongolia (X units) and Uzbekistan (X units) represented the major exporters of electro-cardiographs, together committing 99.9% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Mongolia (with a CAGR of 0.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest ECG supplier in Central Asia, comprising 68% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 19% share of total exports.

In Kazakhstan, ECG exports increased at an average annual rate of +7.7% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (-15.4% per year) and Mongolia (+17.6% per year).

Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2020, and then reduced notably in the following year.

In value terms, ECG imports fell dramatically to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed moderate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 73% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2020, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

Kazakhstan (X units) and Uzbekistan (X units) prevails in imports structure, together achieving 80% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Turkmenistan (X units), comprising a 9.8% share of total imports. The following importers - Mongolia (X units), Kyrgyzstan (X units) and Tajikistan (X units) - together made up 9.9% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Tajikistan (with a CAGR of +14.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported electro-cardiographs in Central Asia, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkmenistan, with a 14% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Kazakhstan was relatively modest. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (-2.0% per year) and Turkmenistan (+13.4% per year).

In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, surging by 17% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 29% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($X per unit), while Uzbekistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
