Market Size for Gas and Smoke Analysers in Central Asia
In 2021, the Central Asian gas and smoke analyser market decreased by -2.6% to $X for the first time since 2011, thus ending a nine-year rising trend. Over the period under review, consumption, however, posted a strong increase. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then shrank in the following year.
Production of Gas and Smoke Analysers in Central Asia
In value terms, gas and smoke analyser production declined to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, recorded buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the production volume increased by 71% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2020, and then fell in the following year.

Exports in Central Asia
In 2021, shipments abroad of gas and smoke analysers decreased by -81.1% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, showed prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by 251%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2020, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, gas and smoke analyser exports declined significantly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 264%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then shrank significantly in the following year.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan dominates exports structure, recording X units, which was approx. 95% of total exports in 2021. Uzbekistan (X units) took a little share of total exports.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the gas and smoke analysers exports, with a CAGR of +20.2% from 2012 to 2021. Uzbekistan (-12.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kazakhstan (+40 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Uzbekistan saw its share reduced by -33% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest gas and smoke analyser supplier in Central Asia, comprising 93% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 5.3% share of total exports.
In Kazakhstan, gas and smoke analyser exports expanded at an average annual rate of +17.1% over the period from 2012-2021.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 197% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan stood at $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+16.0%).
Imports of Gas and Smoke Analysers
Imports in Central Asia
In 2021, overseas purchases of gas and smoke analysers were finally on the rise to reach X units after four years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 107% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, gas and smoke analyser imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Kazakhstan prevails in imports structure, amounting to X units, which was near 93% of total imports in 2021. Uzbekistan (X units) and Mongolia (X units) held a minor share of total imports.
Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of gas and smoke analysers. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+35.9%) and Mongolia (+3.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +35.9% from 2012-2021. While the share of Kazakhstan (+14 p.p.) and Uzbekistan (+3.2 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported gas and smoke analysers in Central Asia, comprising 81% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 12% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan amounted to +4.5%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Uzbekistan (+15.6% per year) and Mongolia (+10.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 18% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a moderate expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 95%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mongolia (+6.3%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
