Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan represented the main exporter of equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping in Central Asia, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was near 77% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Kyrgyzstan (X tons), mixing up a 20% share of total exports. Uzbekistan (X tons) took a little share of total exports.

Imports in Central Asia

In 2021, purchases abroad of equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping decreased by -2.8% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a tangible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 55% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last nine years. Kazakhstan (X tons) and Uzbekistan (X tons) prevails in imports structure, together achieving 81% of total imports. Tajikistan (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Mongolia (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 13% share of total imports. Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Turkmenistan (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +20.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment importing markets in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Tajikistan ($X), together accounting for 89% of total imports.

Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +17.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, surging by 27% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild contraction. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($X per ton), while Mongolia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
