In 2021, shipments abroad of filter paper and paperboard cut to shape decreased by -38.8% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. Uzbekistan (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 6.8% share, followed by Mongolia (6.3%). The following importers - Kyrgyzstan (X tons) and Turkmenistan (X tons) - each recorded a 3.8% share of total imports.

Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the filter paper and paperboard cut to shape imports, with a CAGR of +12.0% from 2012 to 2021. Mongolia (-1.1%), Kyrgyzstan (-8.5%), Turkmenistan (-13.5%) and Uzbekistan (-19.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
