In 2022, the amount of fire extinguishers exported in Central Asia skyrocketed to X units, with an increase of 29% against the previous year's figure. In general, exports enjoyed resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 202% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, fire extinguisher exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 142% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan prevails in exports structure, recording X units, which was near 92% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Mongolia (X units), mixing up a 5.3% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to fire extinguisher exports from Kazakhstan stood at +20.8%. At the same time, Mongolia (+22.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mongolia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +22.7% from 2012-2022. Kazakhstan (+31 p.p.) and Mongolia (+2.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest fire extinguisher supplier in Central Asia, comprising 91% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mongolia ($X), with an 8.6% share of total exports.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, with an increase of 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a slight decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 32% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mongolia ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan stood at $X per unit.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mongolia (+18.5%).

Imports in Central Asia

In 2022, imports of fire extinguishers in Central Asia dropped to X units, shrinking by -4.6% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 59%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, fire extinguisher imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 105% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Kazakhstan prevails in imports structure, resulting at X units, which was approx. 70% of total imports in 2022. Uzbekistan (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 9.5% share, followed by Kyrgyzstan (8.7%), Mongolia (6.1%) and Turkmenistan (4.8%).

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to fire extinguisher imports into Kazakhstan stood at +6.4%. At the same time, Mongolia (+27.9%), Uzbekistan (+14.1%) and Kyrgyzstan (+13.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mongolia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +27.9% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Turkmenistan (-8.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+9.5 p.p.), Mongolia (+5.1 p.p.) and Kyrgyzstan (+4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan saw its share reduced by -1.7% and -17.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Turkmenistan ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 83% share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +31.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, growing by 27% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the import price increased by 29%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
