Exports from Kazakhstan increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+17.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +17.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Uzbekistan (-4.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Kyrgyzstan (+3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Uzbekistan saw its share reduced by -3% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest meat meals and pellets supplier in Central Asia, comprising 83% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 14% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Kazakhstan totaled -6.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+0.1% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+20.4% per year).

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -7.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 4.6%. Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Central Asia
Meat meals and pellets imports rose modestly to X tons in 2021, with an increase of 1.6% against 2020. In general, imports saw a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 525% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
In value terms, meat meals and pellets imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports posted a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 499%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Tajikistan (X tons) and Kazakhstan (X tons) dominates imports structure, together comprising 98% of total imports. Uzbekistan (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Tajikistan (with a CAGR of +51.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, Tajikistan ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Uzbekistan ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 99.9% share of total imports.
Tajikistan, with a CAGR of +52.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, growing by 14% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the import price increased by 27% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
