Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, gin and geneva imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed resilient growth. The purchases of the three major importers of gin and geneva, namely Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan, represented more than two-thirds of total import. In 2022, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per litre, standing approx. at the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a perceptible decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the import price increased by 16%. The level of import peaked at $X per litre in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per litre), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
