Exports in Central Asia

In 2021, exports of glass electrical insulators in Central Asia surged to X units, growing by 36% against the year before. Over the period under review, exports recorded significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 446%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, glass electrical insulator exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 311% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Kazakhstan prevails in exports structure, resulting at X units, which was near 97% of total exports in 2021. Uzbekistan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the glass electrical insulators exports, with a CAGR of +50.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+47.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per unit), while Kazakhstan totaled $X per unit.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+53.3%).

In 2021, supplies from abroad of glass electrical insulators increased by 48% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Total imports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, glass electrical insulator imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

The countries with the highest levels of glass electrical insulator imports in 2021 were Kazakhstan (X units), Uzbekistan (X units) and Tajikistan (X units), together resulting at 89% of total import. It was distantly followed by Mongolia (X units), comprising a 6.3% share of total imports. The following importers - Turkmenistan (X units) and Kyrgyzstan (X units) - each reached a 4.4% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Tajikistan (with a CAGR of +48.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest glass electrical insulator importing markets in Central Asia were Kazakhstan ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Tajikistan ($X), together comprising 92% of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Tajikistan, with a CAGR of +41.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Central Asia amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 5.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the import price increased by 14%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($X per unit), while Mongolia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mongolia (-0.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
