In general, imports continue to indicate a moderate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 125%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+32.8%), Turkmenistan (+8.8%) and Mongolia (+4.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported glass fibre chopped strands in Central Asia, comprising 73% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Kyrgyzstan, with a 4.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Uzbekistan totaled +55.9%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (-11.5% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+26.0% per year).
