Turkmenistan (X tons) ranked third in terms of total production with a 6.6% share.
In Mongolia, goat meat production increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining producing countries recorded the following average annual rates of production growth: Kazakhstan (-0.5% per year) and Turkmenistan (-0.0% per year).
The average goat meat yield rose sharply to X kg per head in 2022, with an increase of 14% compared with 2021. Overall, the yield recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the yield increased by 27% against the previous year. As a result, the yield reached the peak level of X kg per head. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the goat meat yield remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In 2022, the number of animals slaughtered for goat meat production in Central Asia declined to X heads, dropping by -1.5% on 2021 figures. In 2022, imports of goat meat in Central Asia dropped to X tons, falling by -12.7% on the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 1,770% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
